JERSEYVILLE — A new restaurant will open for business in the heart of downtown Jerseyville on Monday, Nov. 17.
Ciudad Del Sol Mexican Restaurant, 208 S. State St,, will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, before officially opening its doors for the inaugural lunch service. City officials and members of the Jersey County Business Association will be on hand to help celebrate the grand opening, and the public is invited to attend the celebration and be among the restaurant’s first customers.
Owners Rafael Torres of Alton, Marcos Zendejas of Godfrey, Tony and Rachel Ruiz of Jerseyville and Robin Groppel of Jerseyville bring collective decades of experience in the restaurant industry to Ciudad Del Sol Mexican Restaurant and say they are looking forward to sharing their talents with customers and the Jerseyville community. The restaurant will serve authentic Mexican cuisine in a friendly atmosphere. A wide selection of items will be on the menu, including margaritas, fajitas, burritos, tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas and more. Vegetarian options also will be available as well as a selection of American dishes, including grilled steaks, chicken and pork chops.
Ciudad del Sol Mexican Restaurant will serve lunch and dinner. Its hours of operation are:

11 a.m. through midnight Friday;
11 a.m. through 11 p.m. Saturday;
11 a.m. through 9 p.m. Sunday
