GODFREY — Premier Autos has moved to a new location at 3104 Godfrey Road.
Owners Scott Redman and Chris Massey say they are excited about the move to Godfrey Road.
“It’s a good location for traffic,” Redman said. The business has been open for a couple years now.
They recently moved from 1317 Milton Road to their new location, which used to be home to Trust Family Auto Sales. They have been at the new spot now for more than a month and the transition went smoothly.
“No, there wasn’t anything that slowed us down,” Redman said. “It was nice.”
The two men are affiliated with Greater Alton and intend to keep their business as local as possible. Their children go to school in the area, they service their cars locally and they purchase the vehicles from local dealerships.
“We want to help out the community as much as possible,” Redman said.
Even the new sign for their dealership was produce by a local sign maker.
Premier Autos’ vehicles are all newer vehicles with low to moderate mileage. They sell all makes and models as long as they are not more than 10 years old.
“Chris and I had talked for a while before opening,” Redman said. “And we wanted to open a dealership that was not like your stereotypical bad used car dealerships.”
One way that they are combating the stereotype is by offering the Carfax on the vehicle. The service shows the history on a car based on insurance claims and mechanics’ records.
Redman and Massey both have other jobs that serve as their main source of income.
“We look at this as an investment,” Redman said. “A business investment in our families’ future.”
Redman works with All State and Massey works with Delmar Financial. Both have a unique set of skills that when combined work perfectly to run Premier Autos.
Redman has been in the vehicle business since 1995 and he and Massey say they are willing to help anyone find the car of their dreams.
“We might not have the car that someone is looking for,” Redman said. “But we have been known to help someone find exactly what they want.”
As their slogan goes, “Hometown guys working with hometown people to provide a better auto buying experience.”
Premier Autos offers financing through a multiple lender group.
“This is a big step,” Massey said.
Premier is looking to get set up with local credit unions in the future, another big step. This goes along with their theme of keeping everything local. Premier Autos also provides detailing services for vehicles.
The dealership takes trade-ins, a way of adding to their inventory and lowering the cost of the purchase for buyers.
“We accept anything,” Redman said. “We have had ATVs, even a watercraft one time.”
The people at Premier would just like the Alton area to know that they have moved and are open for business. You can find Premier Autos online at www.premierautosofalton.com, they can be reached at (618) 433-8299 or you can see them at their new location.
