ALTON — Sunday carillon concerts begin their 2015 summer season Sunday, May 24, and continue through September in the Nan Elliott Rose Garden at Gordon F. Moore Community Park, 4550 College Ave.
Each Sunday evening at 5 p.m., local musicians present a free program to concertgoers seated on lawn chairs, benches or in their vehicles. The performers create their own program. Some choose a theme, such as songs about love, angels and Broadway show tunes, while others perform a variety of their favorite music.
The public is invited to enjoy a walk through the rose garden and listen to the beautiful music of the carillon. All concerts are free. Participants are asked to bring their own lawn chairs. For information, call the Alton Park and Recreation Department at (618) 463-3580.
