A Cottage Hills man was charged Tuesday in Madison County Circuit Court with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), according to a press release from Madison County Sheriff Robert J. Hertz.
Police identified the man as Corey D. Mack, 34, of the 300 block of West MacArthur Drive.
At 3:18 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, a Madison County sheriff’s deputy stopped a car Mack was driving on Vaughn Road in Wood River for a lane usage violation. The vehicle’s driver was identified as Mack, and he was arrested for driving on a revoked driver’s license. A vehicle search resulted in the discovery of a digital scale and cocaine.
Mack was arrested and transported to the Madison County Jail, where he was held pending a formal review of facts by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The felony warrant and information was issued by Judge Richard Tognarelli, who set Mack’s bond at $15,000.
