EDWARDSVILLE — A Cottage Hills man was charged Thursday in Madison County Circuit Court with a felony charge of driving while license revoked, according to a press release from Madison County Sheriff Robert J. Hertz.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 10:14 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at the home of Michael J. Cordova, 32, of the 1300 block of Deanna Street. Deputies met with the complainant and determined the disturbance was verbal in nature and involved Cordova and a fellow household member. During the investigation, Cordova was located in the Rue Des Chateau Apartment Complex in Bethalto.
The investigation revealed Cordova, whose driver’s license is revoked, drove from the scene of the disturbance to the Rue Des Chateau Apartment Complex. Cordova was taken into custody for driving while license revoked and transported to the Madison County Jail, where he was held pending a formal review of facts by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Cordova’s driver’s license was revoked because of a July 13, 2004, conviction for driving under the influence. Cordova was previously convicted on April 23, 2010, and March 4, 2011, for driving while license revoked for the associated DUI, which qualified him for the enhanced felony offense.
The felony warrant and information was signed by Judge Richard Tognarelli, who set bond at $20,000.
