ALTON – Four tablet computers were allegedly stolen from an Alton home Tuesday, March 18, Alton Police Department reports said.
Documents said Jodi Dwyer, 24, of Alton, had her cousin, Brandy, watch her children between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. that night in Dwyer’s home at 3025 Fernwood Ave.
On the morning of Wednesday, March 19, Dwyer said her children told her their four “Nabi” tablet computers valued at $200 a piece went missing from the kitchen counter.
They said Brandy had four black men over the previous evening, reports said.
According to police documents, Brandy knew only two of the four males, who she said were from East St. Louis and were estimated to be about 25. She said she only knew the two as “Donte” and “Cory.”
She denied any knowledge of the theft, but said, according to reports, that any or all of the four men could have taken the tablet computers.
She also said Dwyer had “drug addict” friends who frequent the residence.
No formal charges were filed.
