A rural Granite City woman was charged Monday in Madison County Circuit Court with a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance (alprazolam), according to a press release from Madison County Sheriff Robert J. Hertz.
Police identified the woman as Anna M. Mollet, 38, of the 3000 block of West Chain Of Rocks Road.
On Sunday at approximately 8:05 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic dispute at in the 3100 block of West Chain of Rocks Road. The responding deputy met with Mollet and her boyfriend, who were involved in a verbal disturbance. Mollet agreed to leave the home to avoid further problems. Mollet returned home approximately 30 minutes later and began yelling at an occupant of the residence. Mollet was subsequently arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct. A search of Mollet’s purse, after her arrest, resulted in the discovery of four illegally possessed alprazolam tablets.
Mollet was transported to the Madison County Jail, where she was held pending a formal review of facts by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office. The felony warrant and information was signed by Judge Neil Schroeder, who set bond at $15,000. Mollet also was charged with a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
