The Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 1:16 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, to a report of a theft at a residence in the 600 block of West Moro Road in Moro. While in route, deputies obtained information from dispatch that the subjects responsible for the theft were on the scene and believed to be involved in drug-related activity.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene and began an investigation. When deputies made initial contact with Graham Ladd, he furnished a false name but his true identity was discovered. He possessed outstanding warrants for previous charges relating to retail theft from the Wood River Police Department and criminal trespass to property and retail theft charges from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
The complainants, who were also the homeowners, had been offering temporary residency for Gavin and Graham Ladd. They recently discovered items within the household that were missing and suspected Gavin and Graham Ladd as being responsible for the theft. Deputies also located another female on the premises by the name of Kelly Hart. Deputies began to investigate and determined through interviews and searches upon their property and persons that Gavin Ladd and Graham Ladd were responsible for the missing property. The missing property was recovered. In addition, searches of Gavin Ladd’s, Graham Ladd’s and Kelly Hart’s persons and effects revealed them all to be in possession of suspected heroin.
Police arrested the suspects and transported to the Madison County Jail, where enough information was developed to hold them in the Madison County Jail pending a formal review of facts by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
