Melinda A. Gibson
A Godfrey woman was charged today in Madison County Circuit Court with a felony charge of aggravated driving under the influence while license revoked, Madison County Sheriff Robert J. Hertz said in a press release.
Police identified the woman as Melinda A. Gibson, 43, of the 2700 block of St. Ambrose Drive, Godfrey.
On Thursday at about 2:13 a.m., deputy stopped the vehicle Gibson was driving on Godfrey Road at Martin Luther King Drive for registration-related offenses. Gibson appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and failed a field sobriety test.
A check on Gibson’s Illinois driver’s license revealed it was revoked for a prior DUI offense. Gibson was arrested and transported to the Madison County Jail, where she was held pending a review of facts by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The warrant and criminal information was signed by Judge James Hackett, who set Gibson’s bond at $25,000. Gibson also was issued traffic citations for no rear registration light and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
