Raymond Scott Cartwright
On Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at approximately 5:54p.m., Madison County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 9200 block of Church Road, Worden, Illinois, in regard to a reported burglary to an out-building on the property. Upon arrival, deputies were told by the complainant that he had recently discovered someone had entered an out-building on his property and stolen miscellaneous items including tools. In addition, the victim stated he had discovered someone had also stolen gasoline from a large gas tank on the property.
Through investigative efforts Raymond Scott Cartwright was quickly identified as a person of interest in the case. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the home of Cartwright and subsequently developed probable cause to arrest Cartwright for Burglary.
During the course of this investigation evidence was recovered and statements were obtained which linked Cartwright to the burglary and theft of gasoline. Cartwright was transported to the Madison County Jail where he was held pending a formal review of facts by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The warrant and criminal information was issued by the honorable Judge XXXXXXXX, who set Cartwright’s bond at $XXXXXXXX. Cartwright was also charged with the misdemeanor offense of Theft Under $500.00 relating to the gasoline theft.
