EAST ALTON — Dennis Dubbelde has been appointed to the St. Louis Regional Airport Board of Commissioners.
He was recommended by Madison County Chairman Alan Dunstan and received approval from the County Board. Dubbelde is filling in the remainder of the term vacated by George Machino, which ends May 2, 2016.
Dubbelde’s past public service includes serving as a Madison County Board member from 1992 to 2002 and as Wood River Township Democrat Precinct Committeeman from 1980 and 2012. He is a board member of the Madison County Affordable Housing Corp.
His previous work experience includes 35 years in the IT Department at Concordia Publishing House for The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and more than six years as the Madison County director of purchasing.
“It is a great honor to be selected as a commissioner,” Dubbelde said. “The airport and its large business park is a tremendous asset to the region and I am happy to help see that it continues to be managed wisely.”
Dubbelde attended Roxana High School and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He and his wife, Carla, enjoy traveling and camping. They also travel to San Diego to spend time with his son Chad and his family. Dubbelde is especially proud of his grandchildren, Sophia and Eric.
