BETHALTO — Family Fun Day is set for 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Steve Bryant Park on Culp Lane.
The free public event will feature games, a fishing derby, pony rides, bounce houses and refreshments. The park is located at 14th Street and Stadium Drive. For more information, visit the village’s website at www.bethalto.com or call (618) 377-8051.
The park officially will be renamed Steve Bryant Park after former four-term Mayor Steve Bryant, whose last official day as mayor was May 6, 2013.
Among Bryant’s accomplishments, he transformed the old pumping station at Grant and Mill streets into a green space as a joint project with Bethalto Rotary, turned vacant farm land into the Bethalto Sports Complex (rated one of the top complexes in the state of Illinois), and secured the first OSLAD grant from the state in the amount of $400,000 as part of the ongoing sports complex construction.
