This spring, the village will hold elections for what will end up being a quite different Village Board.
On April 7, a consolidated election will determine which new board trustees will take one of three seats. Those in the running for a four-year term include William Orrill, Karen McAtee, Joe Springman III, Terry Seymour, Kevin Botterbush and Nathaniel Keener, all of Godfrey.
Current trustee Eldon “Twirp” Williams is vying to keep his seat. He says he feels the board has completed some accomplishments during his term, but there is work left to do.
“There are still some loose ends that I would like to see corrected,” Williams said. “Godfrey still has some streets that need repair, and we don’t want those to get away from us and end up costing twice as much down the road.”
Trustees Jerry Gibson and Jeff Williams have elected not to serve another term.
Village Clerk Pam Whisler says early voting will take place beginning March 23.
