GODFREY — Mary Johnson, Judy Kelley and Donna Georgewitz, along with 14 other ladies from Godfrey Women’s Club, went Christmas shopping at the Godfrey Walmart.
The ladies bought clothes and toys for 10 families and 19 children from disadvantaged families. Members Joan Klockenkemper and Rosemary Stephan, as well as the other ladies, then went to the Village Hall in Godfrey to wrap all of their gifts.
On Monday, members of the club volunteered at Christmas Wonderland lights display for walk-through night at Rock Spring Park. It was a very chilly night, but visitors and volunteers had a great time. The children got their picture taken with Santa.
On Friday of this same week, members will be in front of the Godfrey Schnuck’s store, ringing the bells for the Salvation Army.
The members of the Godfrey Women’s Club have volunteered their time for all three of these projects for many, many years as part of their Community Outreach Programs.
