ALTON — Jon Clark, an Executive Committee member of the Sierra Club’s Piasa Palisades Group, will discuss the ecological importance of Panama at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, in the community room of the First Unitarian Church, 110 E. Third St. (Third and Alby).

Clark is completing a master’s degree in biology at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and plans to teach biology at a post-secondary institution. He works in the Department of Biological Sciences at Lewis and Clark Community College and at SIUE, where he is a graduate student and teaching assistant.
The Sierra Club’s Speaker Series is free and open to all. All are welcome to join the speaker for dinner at 5:45 p.m. at Mac’s Time Out, 315 Belle St. in Alton.
