ALTON — The Older Adults Health Council and Senior Services Plus will host the annual fall health fair, Don’t Let Aging Spook You, from 8:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Senior Services Plus, 2603 N. Rodgers Ave.
The public is invited to learn about resources from more than 50 local vendors. An assortment of information will be available, as well as giveaways and door prize drawings.
The health fair provides an opportunity to discover new information available in the community, including assisted and supportive living, Medicare specialists, chiropractic care, community service organizations, hearing specialists, home health care, hospice and palliative care, independent living, massage therapy, Medicare specialists, mental health and wellness, and skilled nursing.
Free health screenings will be offered throughout the day, including blood pressure, memory, vestibular, balance, hearing, pulse oximeter, oral cancer, glucose and dental.
Walgreen’s Pharmacy will offer influenza vaccinations and accepts most insurance, including Medicare. An option is also available to purchase the vaccination for $25.99 per person.
Harmony Health Plans, a division of WellCare, is sponsoring the entertainment, Maury Sings Sinatra, at 11:45 a.m.
Senior Services Plus’ School House Grill will be open during the event, serving breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
