Audrey Parker is pictured in the Madison County Historical Museum’s basement exhibit space with items she is cataloging, including a locally manufactured graniteware coffee pot.
The Madison County Historical Museum welcomes Audrey Parker to its staff.
Parker, a Madison County native, is a history major at SIUE, minoring in anthropology. At the MCHS Museum she will be working in collections management, specifically in cataloging items in the kitchen collection. She will catalog each item in the society’s PastPerfect inventory system by photographing the item, researching origins, creating a description and determining best storage methods for items that will not remain on permanent display.
Her work will earn credits in her Museum Internship class under Professor Cory Willmott of SIUE’s Anthropology Department.
Regular hours for the MCHS Museum and Archival Library are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. The facilities at 715 N. Main St. in Edwardsville are free and open to the public. For information, call (618) 656-7569.
