Alton attorney John Hopkins was installed Monday, June 30, as president of the Alton-Godfrey Rotary Club for 2014-2015, and two members were honored with the Paul Harris Fellow for their community and club service.
Attorney Liz Parker and Mitch Cannell of Logo It in Alton received the Paul Harris Fellow during the club’s annual banquet in the Trimpe Center at Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey. The club donated $1,000 each to the Rotary International Foundation to name Parker and Cannell as Fellows.
Hopkins succeeds N. Gail Weinrich as president of the club. Hopkins will be assisted by Parker, vice president/president-elect; Gary Ayers of the college, secretary; and Tom Hoechst, of CNB Bank, treasurer. Serving as new directors for three years are: Sam Stemm of WBGZ, Cannell, and John Rain of Norton and Rain Insurance.
