ALTON — OSF Saint Anthony’s Cancer Center of Excellence, in partnership with The 100 Black Men of Alton, is offering a men’s health screening Saturday, May 2, at Alton Acres Community Center, 316 Acorn St., with appointments beginning at 10 a.m.
The screenings include free PSA blood tests, as well as digital rectal exams by Dr. James Piephoff, a board-certified radiation oncologist.
Screenings are designed for men age 50 and older who have not been previously screened for prostate cancer. Men at high risk for prostate cancer, including African-American men or men who have a first-degree relative (father, brother or son) diagnosed with prostate cancer at an early age, should begin testing at age 45.
