COLLINSVILLE — The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that nighttime lane restrictions will be encountered along eastbound and westbound Interstate 270 from the new Chain of Rocks Canal Bridge to Illinois 3 beginning Monday, March 23.
The eastbound and westbound lane restrictions will be in place at or after 9 p.m. and will be removed by 5 a.m. the following morning. The lane restrictions are necessary to install the permanent pavement striping. This work shall be completed by 5 a.m. Friday, March 27.
In addition to the lane restrictions, the ramp from eastbound I-270 onto southbound Illinois 3 will be closed on Tuesday, March 24, and Wednesday, March 25. The ramp closure will begin at 9 p.m. and will reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning. A posted detour will be in place to guide eastbound motorists to Illinois 203, where they will exit and be directed back onto westbound I-270 and sent back to Illinois 3.
Motorists are asked to use caution while traveling through the work zone.
