The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that Illinois 159 will be reduced to one lane of traffic near Valley Avenue in Collinsville from 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, weather permitting.
Two-way traffic will be maintained using flaggers and traffic control devices. This work is scheduled during off-peak traffic hours to minimize disruption to motorists. This closure is required to install storm sewer pipe across Illinois 159 and is part of the overall project to widen Illinois 159 to five lanes through this area. The overall project is estimated to be completed by the fall of 2016.
Delays are expected so plan accordingly. The department asks that motorists be patient, reduce speed, obey all warning signs, and use additional caution when traveling near and throughout this work zone.
