SPRINGFIELD — More than $65,000 in prizes will be awarded in the 2015 Illinois Sportsman’s Raffle, raising money for the Illinois Conservation Foundation’s youth outdoor education and conservation programs. Only 2,000 tickets will be sold for the fundraiser, giving supporters a chance to help pay for their holiday gifts.
Tickets cost $100 each, or buyers can purchase three for $250. The grand prize winner will receive $50,000, with $5,000 to a first-place winner, $2,500 to second place and eight additional $1,000 winners.
As an added incentive this year, there will be two other ways to win cash prizes. The ICF is partnering with Bass Pro Shops, and store-exclusive entry forms can be picked up at Bass Pro Shops’ Gurnee or Bolingbrook stores. Entries returned with an original flier (copies not accepted) will be entered into an additional store drawing in which the ICF will announce one $1,000 winner from each of the two stores.
Opportunities for fishing, hunting and camping as well as conservation scholarships and classroom-based field trips are available through the ICF. Often, these programs come to life at the ICF’s Torstenson Youth Conservation Education Center near Rockford.
In addition to the Bass Pro Shops exclusive drawing, raffle tickets may be purchased online by visiting www.ilcf.org or by calling the foundation at (217) 785-2003. Drawings will take place on Jan. 30.
If all 2,000 tickets aren’t sold, prizes will be adjusted to reflect the percentage of tickets sold. For example, if 1,000 tickets are sold, prizes will be 50 percent of the prize money above with the exception of the $1,000 store prizes, which will still be awarded. All business transactions and operations of this raffle take place exclusively in Sangamon County, Ill. This raffle is being conducted in accordance with the Raffles and Poker Runs Act, 230 ILCS 15/0.01 et.seq. and the Sangamon County Raffle Ordinance. All funds are held in private accounts at the ICF.
