ALTON — Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville senior Paige Hubert has joined the Alton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau this fall as its newest intern.
Throughout the years, the bureau has worked with SIUE students to expand their knowledge base and introduce them to potential careers. Hubert is a mass communications major focusing in media advertising and minoring in psychology. With only the fall semester and this internship to complete, she says she is excited to be one step closer to completing her degree and beginning a new adventure.
“After much dedication with my studies, I’m anxious to utilize my skills in a real work environment,” Hubert said. “I am eager, yet nervous, for this opportunity that ARCVB has given me. The people at ARCVB have been kind and helpful. Everyone here has made me feel right at home. I’m full of anticipation for the opportunities to learn from the people here at ARCVB.”
This fall, Hubert will assist with a few of Alton’s many events throughout the fall months. She will be with ARCVB for several weeks. A fast and enthusiastic learner, Hubert says she is optimistic about the experience and ready to further her knowledge.
Hubert first began her college career at Illinois Central College studying elementary education but decided to change her major to mass communications. When she is not working at ARCVB or studying, she enjoys going to the gym, traveling to Indiana to see her boyfriend play baseball, spending time with family and enjoying the outdoors.
