The Illinois Department of Transportation Friday announced that Illinois 159 will be reduced to one lane of traffic near Park Avenue in Collinsville from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, weather permitting.
Two-way traffic will be maintained using flaggers and traffic control devices. This work is scheduled during off-peak traffic hours to minimize the disruption to motoring public. This closure is required to install a new sanitary manhole and sewer line across Illinois 159. The overall project is estimated to be completed by the fall of 2016.
Delays are expected so motorists should plan accordingly. The department asks motorists to be patient, reduce speed, obey warning signs and use additional caution when traveling near and throughout this work zone.
