COLLINSVILLE — The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced daytime lane restrictions will be encountered on the Clark Bridge in Alton beginning Monday, June 23. The lane closures are needed to perform bridge inspections.
Weather permitting, the lane closures will take place as follows:
On Monday and Tuesday, June 23 and 24, the southbound right lane (from Illinois to Missouri) will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
On Wednesday and Thursday, June 25 and 26, the northbound right lane (from Missouri to Illinois) will be closed daily from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It is anticipated the inspections will be completed on Thursday, June 26.
Traffic control devices will be utilized during the lane closure, to assist motorists making their way through the work zone. The department asks that all motorists be patient, reduce speed, and use caution when traveling near and throughout this work zone.
IDOT also announced Thursday the McKinley Bridge will be reduced to one lane on Tuesday, June 24, weather permitting. Two-way traffic will be maintained by flaggers. This closure is required to repair the guardrail.
The lane closure will begin at 9 a.m. and will be removed by 3 p.m.
