Illinois Department of Transportation officials ask motorists to be patient, reduce speed and use caution when traveling in work zones.
A daytime lane closure will be encountered Friday, Oct. 3, on Interstate 270 westbound at Illinois 3, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The lane closure will begin at 9 a.m. and will be reopened by 2 p.m., weather permitting. This lane closure is necessary to facilitate construction of the new canal structure’s adjoining pavement. Traffic will be guided through the work zone utilizing flaggers, traffic control devices, and traffic control signing.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone.
