COLLINSVILLE — The Illinois Department of Transportation Wednesday announced there will be daytime lane closures on Illinois 140 at the entrance and exit ramps of Interstate 55 northbound.
The Illinois 140 eastbound left turn lane to the I-55 northbound entrance ramp and driving and passing lanes of Illinois 140 westbound at the I-55 northbound entrance ramp will be closed at various times beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, through 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, weather permitting. All lanes will reopen at 5 p.m. daily.
The closure is needed to allow maintenance crews to perform road patching in advance of the winter season. The Department’s District 8 Maintenance Crews are performing the repairs.
Traffic control devices including changeable message signs will be utilized during the closure to assist motorists making their way through the work zone. The department asks that travelers be patient and use extra caution near and throughout the work area.
I-55 lane closure starts Monday
The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that there will be a single daytime lane closure on northbound and southbound I-55 from Illinois 140 near Hamel to Black Lane near Collinsville beginning Monday, Oct. 20, 2014.
These lane closures are necessary to perform crack sealing. It is estimated that the project will be completed by Nov. 30, 2014.
