WOOD RIVER — State Rep. Dan Beiser (D-Alton) and state Sen. Bill Haine (D-Alton) recently hosted satellite office hours in Wood River.
“It is always great for me to have a chance to sit down with my constituents and discuss issues that are facing our state, as well as address any state-related concerns they may have,” Beiser said. “Hearing the opinions of my constituents helps me to do my job as state representative more effectively.”
Satellite office hours provide constituents who don’t live in the Alton area a chance to have easier access to Beiser’s office so they can meet with a member of his staff or gain access to state services.
“Thank you to Representative Beiser and Senator Haine for taking the time to bring their staff out to Wood River,” Rose Thiemann of Wood River said. “It means a lot to me to see that both our state representative and our state senator truly care about hearing the opinions of the people they serve and take their thoughts and ideas into consideration.”
Beiser has been hosting satellite office hours throughout the region, including Granite City, Godfrey and Bethalto. The next satellite office hours will be 10 a.m. until noon Thursday, Nov. 19, at Hartford Village Hall, 140 W. Hawthorne St.
“Hosting satellite office hours in different communities helps bring the services our offices offer to more people, and that’s always a good thing,” Haine said. “Since both of our state offices are located in Alton, satellite office hours gave residents of Wood River a chance to have their concerns addressed face to face without having to make their way to our district offices.”
