ALTON — The Rev. Pastor David Crowley of First Presbyterian of Alton will lead a group discussion from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at Senior Services Plus.
The public is encouraged to attend to learn about what issues of aging are represented in the Bible. Crowley will describe how the issues are still relevant today and how the Bible can be used as a tool for aging individuals.
The session will be casual and a great opportunity to discuss what issues can be expected and how they can be combatted with spirituality.
“In many places, the Bible is a set of books for the young,” Crowley said. “At the same time, it is filled with material that deals directly with the issues of aging, from the perspective of one growing old. We will take a look at passages that touch on a panoply of elements of aging as honor and challenge.”
The discussion is free to attend. Reservations are encouraged but not required. For information, call (618) 465-3298 ext. 100.
