WOOD RIVER — Amare, a nonprofit organization based in Madison County, will hold its inaugural Hungry for Life Food Drive event.
Unexpired canned goods and non-perishable items will benefit the St. Louis Area Foodbank, which provides food assistance to Madison County food pantries.
There will be a lunch and raffle from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, with donated prizes. To purchase raffle tickets, participants must bring unexpired canned goods and/or non-perishable items. This event will be held at the Wood River Roundhouse, 633 N. Wood River Ave. next to the Aquatic Center.
“Amare wants to give back to the community and what better way to start giving back than to collect food donations to help the 1 in 8 people that receive food assistance in our region,” a press release states.
