ALTON — Senior Services Plus invites area residents to attend a variety of events on Thursday, Nov. 6.
Paint SSP Pink is planned to encourage breast cancer awareness and raise funds for the Joanne Knight Breast Health Center in St. Louis. Beginning with a sale of shirts, ribbons and Zumbathon tickets from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., SSP’s Wellness Center staff will kick off the event. Attendees are invited to participate in Breast Cancer Fact or Fiction from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the School House Grill. Guest speakers from Alton Memorial Hospital will speak on the importance of regular breast health exams and the offerings available through their services. Speakers will present in the Multipurpose Room from 11:15 a.m. to noon.
From noon to 12:15 p.m., an outfit contest will take place in the School House Grill. Awards will be given out for first, second and third places. Later that evening, the public is invited to a Zumbathon from 6-8 p.m. in the School House Grill. The class will be instructed by Amy Roosman and Amy Delong. The cost to participate is only $3 per ticket.
