GODFREY — The Parrot Heads of the Riverbend will host a trivia night, Trivia Treasure, Saturday, March 7, at Rolling Hills Golf Course, 5801 Pierce Lane.
The Parrot Heads organize annual community projects to benefit local nonprofit organizations. This year, group members decided to raise funds for the Meals On Wheels Program at Senior Services Plus. The local agency serves more than 650 meals daily to seniors in Madison and St. Clair counties.
Parrot Heads of the Riverbend Charity Director Amber Schaefer said her grandmother was a recipient of Meals on Wheels for many years.
“I saw firsthand how much she benefited from it,” Schaefer said. “For myself and the Parrot Heads to raise money to help the cause is a true honor.”
Doors for the evening will open at 6 p.m., and trivia will begin at 7 p.m. Trivia will be presented by Trivia 101. Many treasures will be available, including door prizes, 50/50 raffle, an instant lotto tree and a silent auction.
“When we originated our PH Club, our members agreed that we wanted to be involved in promoting senior citizen activities,” said Debbie DeLassus, president of the volunteer organization. “All of our members have benefited from the work and knowledge that our seniors have contributed to our society. It is a real pleasure to visit the Senior Services Plus center and see individuals enjoying themselves and sharing friendships. As Parrot Heads we are delighted in our own small way to be a part of our senior citizens’ lives.”
A cash bar will be available, provided by Rolling Hills, and no outside alcohol is permitted. Participants are encouraged to bring snacks.
Tables of eight are available for $120. For more information or to reserve a table, call Debbie DeLassus at (618) 581-4116 or Michelle Hiligoss at (314) 540-4545.
