Two people were injured Thursday morning after an Illinois Department of Transportation aircraft made an emergency landing in a field in rural Hardin County.
According to an Illinois State Police press release, the pilot, 59, and a passenger, 69, were transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The landing happened at 10:49 a.m. near Illinois 1. The two men were not identified.
Federal Aviation Administration authorities have been notified and the incident is under investigation.
