GRANITE CITY – U.S. Rep. Bill Enyart (D-Illinois) will speak out against poorly enforced trade laws at the Save Our Steel Jobs Rally in Granite City Friday.
The rally is expected to draw a large crowd of steel workers in support of tougher enforcement against South Korean industry imports.
“By properly enforcing our trade laws already in place, we can ensure a successful future for the steel industry,” Enyart said. “A successful future for the steel industry means a successful future for the oil and natural gas extraction industry, and for the energy independence of our country.”
U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (D-Illinois) and Alliance for American Manufacturing President Scott Paul will be speaking in addition to Enyart. The rally will take place, rain or shine, at 3 p.m. Friday, May 16, at Granite City Civic Park, 20th Street and Delmar Avenue.
