ALTON — The National Great Rivers Museum, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, announces the following holiday schedule.
The museum will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25 in observance of Christmas, and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 in observance of the New Year. The Rivers Project Office in the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
The National Great Rivers Museum’s normal operating hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Tours of the Melvin Price Locks and Dam are available daily at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., free of charge. For information, call (618) 462-6979.
Driver services facilities holiday closures
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White announced that all offices and driver services facilities will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Thursday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday.
All driver services facilities will reopen for regular business on Friday, Dec. 26.
Individuals can visit the Secretary of State’s website, www.cyberdriveillinois.com, to locate the nearest Driver Services facility and the hours of operation. In addition, drivers can use the website to change an address, register to become an organ and tissue donor or renew license plate stickers.
