About 200 people attended OSF Saint Anthony’s Foundation’s 55th annual Snow Ball Dinner Dance at Lewis and Clark Community College. The event raised about $45,000 to benefit OSF Saint Anthony’s commitment to enhancing cancer services in the River Bend.
ALTON — OSF Saint Anthony’s Foundation kicked off the holiday season with the 55th annual Snow Ball Dinner Dance at Lewis and Clark Community College.
The event was co-hosted by Ajay and Dr. Niru Pathak and Mark and Mary Jo Kratschmer with more than 200 people in attendance. Proceeds from the Snow Ball, more than $45,000, benefit OSF Saint Anthony’s commitment to enhancing cancer services in the River Bend.
“On behalf of the Snow Ball committee, I would like to thank the River Bend community for standing with us in the fight against cancer,” said Lee McRaven, OSF Saint Anthony’s Foundation representative. “The continued support the foundation has received for our cancer program has been overwhelming.”
The participants at the black-tie optional event danced to music performed by Galaxy and took a chance on winning donated raffle items. Winners included David and Ceshia Ray, Happy Hours Baskets (donated by Betty Wuellner and Patti Kratschmer); Jill Emmons, Fox tickets and dinner at Kemoll’s (donated by the Snow Ball Committee); and Dr. Anne Craver, dinner for six with wine pairings at Gentelin’s on Broadway (donated by Ryan and Sarah Gentelin).
Dinner was prepared and served by the staff at Lewis and Clark Community College and decorations were provided by Jeffrey’s Flower by Design in Wood River.
Originally created by the volunteers and staff of the former St. Joseph’s Hospital, the Snow Ball features a beautifully lighted and decorated atmosphere welcoming the holiday season. OSF Saint Anthony’s Foundation has proudly carried on the Snow Ball tradition since 1989, when the St. Joseph’s facility became Saint Clare’s Hospital and is now a part of the OSF Health System family.
