ALTON — Senior Services Plus will host a free public educational Medicare seminar every Thursday in August at 2603 N. Rodgers Ave.
Medicare beneficiaries, working professionals, students and anyone interested in learning about Medicare are welcome to attend. No reservations are required.
Session 1 will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6. Learn about the ABCs and Ds of Medicare, which consists of: Hospital Insurance, Medical Insurance (includes doctor visits and durable medical equipment), Medicare Supplemental Insurance Medicare Advantage plans (HMOs and PPOs) and prescription drug coverage.
Session 2 will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13. With this information, an individual will understand how to access Medicare online. A wealth of knowledge is available to save hundreds or thousands of dollars each year.
Session 3 will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20. Learn about Medicare and prescription discount programs. Hear about money-saving programs, along with tips and tools from a local pharmacist.
Session 4 will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27. Attend Medicare 101: Hear the breakdown of the Medicare Monster. Learn about all the parts of Medicare, ways to save money and hear tips from a local pharmacist. This information is a good review for those who have missed the other presentations and a good refresher for those who have.
