EDWARDSVILLE — Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons and Associate Judge Janet Heflin will preside over a graduation ceremony Thursday for students completing the Juvenile Diversion program.
The program, founded by the Rev. Tim Stark of Navigation Church, is designed as an alternative to juvenile court for youth offenders. Thursday’s ceremony marks the students’ successful completion of the program. Approximately 15 students are expected to receive their diploma.
Gibbons provided support for the program as an assistant state’s attorney in 2006 and has been an advocate of the program ever since.
The program is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at the Madison County Courthouse, Courtroom 103, 155 N. Main St., Edwardsville.
