Fireworks over the Confluence tickets allow visitors to view firework displays from the top two levels of the Lewis and Clark Confluence Tower from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. July 3-5.
HARTFORD — Enjoy fireworks this Fourth of July Holiday from the heights of the Lewis and Clark Confluence Tower.
Two evenings of fireworks viewing will be offered with Alton’s annual display highlighted Friday, July 3, and Edwardsville’s on Saturday, July 4.
Guests can view fireworks from one of three levels of the tower. On Friday, participants can enjoy Alton’s firework display from a comfortable distance and then return Saturday to do the same for Edwardsville’s. Gates open at 8:30 p.m. on both nights and the displays last until 10 p.m. Tickets are $20 for the top level 150 feet above the ground, $15 for the middle level, and $10 for the lower level. Seating is limited so participants are advised to buy tickets while they are available.
“Viewing the local firework displays from the top level of the tower is such an amazing experience,” said Deanna Barnes, project manager for the village of Hartford. “One doesn’t have to worry about any trees or buildings blocking parts of the display when you are so high above the ground. The fireworks are viewed from a distance so they aren’t quite as loud, making the experience more enjoyable for guests and especially smaller children who may not be comfortable with loud noises.”
Fireworks displays in surrounding communities may also be visible throughout the evenings, although all displays will be seen at a distance.
Bringing chairs and treats is encouraged but alcohol is prohibited.
To buy tickets, call the tower at (618) 251-9101 or stop by 435 Confluence Tower Drive in Hartford.
The tower is open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Guided daily tours are available throughout the day at the tower. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for adults 62 and older, active military and veterans, $2 for children 12 and younger and children 2 and younger are free. Group rates are available for 12 or more people and reservations can be made by calling the Alton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau at (618) 465-6676.
