GRANITE CITY — Madison County Transit (MCT) is proposing to enhance its bus service in 2015 and will host a series of public meetings to collect comments on the proposal.
Highlights of the proposed improvements include: later weekday service on MCT Cross County routes, new Sunday service in the Alton, Collinsville, Edwardsville and Granite City areas and other minor route and schedule adjustments. If approved, the changes would take effect in January 2015. Times, dates and locations of the public meetings are listed below:
- MCT Collinsville Station: 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 17
- MCT Alton Station: 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17
- MCT Granite City Station: 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 18
- MCT Edwardsville Station: 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18

“For many residents, access to transportation means access to opportunity,” MCT Managing Director Jerry Kane said. “The goal of this proposal is to create opportunities for the people of Madison County to reach jobs, classes and services.”
