The Ugandan Kids Choir
EAST ALTON — The Ugandan Kids Choir, a group of 10 Ugandan children, will perform at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, and 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 10 N. Center St.
The children have been given hope through Childcare Worldwide’s Sponsorship Program and are spreading that hope to audiences throughout the nation. The choir has performed traditional African songs and dances at churches, schools, Disneyland, on King 5 Television’s “New Day Northwest,” at Qwest Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks; and on the steps of the White House.
The choir is a ministry of Childcare Worldwide, dedicated to empowering children in the developing world since 1981. Through child sponsorship, the organization aims to provide children with an education that will set them up for future employment and break the cycle of poverty.
