ALTON — The Caring Circle Cancer Education and Support Group for women with cancer will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, in the OSF Saint Clare’s Medical Office Building, Suite 303. A continental breakfast will be served.
Licensed clinical social worker Leslie Scott will present Coping Strategies and Stress Management, a discussion on identifying coping tools and stress management strategies that participants can incorporate into their lifestyles while going through or recovering from illness.
“Stress, during or after an illness, is inevitable,” Scott said. “This presentation will equip you with the necessary tools to cope and manage the stress in a healthy and productive way.”
Held monthly on the third Saturday, Caring Circle is led by experienced cancer care professionals from OSF Saint Anthony’s Cancer Center of Excellence and offers women with cancer a chance to connect with other women about their experiences.
Tracy Phillips, patient navigator for breast health, facilitates the group.
“We want to present topics that can help meet the emotional needs of women during their cancer diagnosis and treatment,” Phillips said.
