WOOD RIVER — The Wood River Museum and Wood River Library are partnering to offer two events to the community in honor of Veterans Day.
Local veterans who participated in the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., will share their experiences at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Wood River Museum, 40 West Ferguson.
George Tyler, Bob Myers, Dale Ragus and Tom Macias will relive the special trip and share their wartime experiences with guests.
On Nov. 17, also at 6:30 p.m., the Charles Guggenheim film “D-Day Remembered,” an Academy Award Nominee for Best Documentary, will be shown at the Wood River Public Library. The film was obtained from the National D-Day Museum in New Orleans.
Both programs are co-sponsored by the Wood River Public Library and the Heritage Council and admission is free.
In honor of Veterans Day, the Wood River Museum has a special display of veteran pictures and uniforms of local veterans. The museum is open from 1 until 4 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
