The Wood River City Council approved the following on Monday, March 3:
- Setting a public hearing on the proposed 2014-2015 fiscal year budget for Monday, March 17, at 7 p.m. The proposed budget for next fiscal year is $13,952,258, a decrease of 8.2 percent from last fiscal year, city officials said.
- Authorizing Mayor Fred Ufert to apply for Community Development Block Grant funds from Madison County for a reconstruction project to VanPreter Street.
- Passing a request from Wood River Public Library to close their parking lot at 326 E. Ferguson Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014, for the Summer Reading Program Kick-Off event.
- Proclaiming April 1, 2014, as National Service Recognition Day in Wood River.
