Ada Mae Garner, 94, of Wood River, died at 11:59 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.
She was born May 12, 1921, in Eldorado to the late Robert and Susie (Bishop) Farmer.
On Feb. 14, 1938, she and Leland I. Garner were married in Eldorado. They were married for 72 years before he preceded her in death on May 12, 2010.
Mrs. Garner was a homemaker and was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She also loved to garden and collect porcelain dolls.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Henson, Beverly Barbre and Joy Dean, all of Bethalto; five grandchildren, Michael Barbre of Colorado, James Barbre of Bethalto, Stephen Henson of East Alton, and Debbie Dean and Dian Miller of Wood River; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2015, at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015, with the Rev. Earl Gillett officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
