Alana S. “Ginger” Krieshok, 67, of Granite City, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at her home.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1948, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Peter G. and Ruth (Hagnauer) Krieshok.
She was a long time Insurance Broker at Marsh & McLennan in St. Louis. Ginger loved her career and had many interests outside of work that included the St. Louis Symphony, reading and traveling. She enjoyed participating in trivia contest, helping environmental causes and animal rights. Ginger loved dogs, music and was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a dedicated professional and all the special times she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by and will be missed by her sister, Paula and (Steve) Rodeffer of LaHarp; her brothers, Thomas and (Peggy) Krieshok of Lenexa, Kan., and Pete and (Mary Ellen) Krieshok of Granite City, and Joseph and (Mary Beth) Krieshok of Granite City; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ginger was preceded in death by her infant brother, Robert Krieshok.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of her life, services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Clint Wisdom officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials are suggested to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or the Granite City A.P.A.
