Alice Thompson, 91, of Bethalto, died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at Bethalto Care Center.
She was born Aug. 4, 1923, in Hinsdale, the daughter of the late George and Natalie (Olson) Peterson.
She married Everett V. Thompson in 1944. He preceded her in death.
Alice was a homemaker and receptionist at a hair salon. She attended Zion Lutheran in Bunker Hill; before that she had been a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church in LaGrange. She enjoyed knitting, reading and jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Kay L. Cocke of Bethalto and Janice and Jack Tolliver of Holiday Shores; two grandchildren, John B. Tolliver of Edwardsville and Allison Tolliver of Glen Carbon; and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Gary Cocke; and a sister, Lorraine Peterson.
Visitation will be from 1 until funeral services at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Terry Grebing.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
