Anita F. Van Wie, 72, of East Alton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at her home.
She was born July 4, 1943, in Alton, the daughter to Walter Edward and Eleanor (Medcalf) Dunston. She married Charles H. Van Wie Feb. 21, 1970, in Alton and he preceded her death June 5, 2010. Anita had a green thumb and was an entrepreneur. She ran a greenhouse and was in the wholesale rose and house plant business for more than 30 years.
She is survived by two sons, Ed Van Wie of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., and Jeff and Randi Van Wie of East Alton; two grandchildren, Regan and Rickie Van Wie; and two sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” (Jim) Gorin and Sue (Robert) Woody.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Jim, John and Gene Dunston; and sister, Kathy Lou Dunston Havron.
