Anna M. Lawson, 93, of Alton, went to be with the Lord at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at Bethalto Care Center, surrounded by her family.
She was born May 7, 1921, in Greensboro, Penn., the daughter of John and Jenny (Totora) Blasioli.
She married Wallace E. Lawson on March 2, 1945, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. He passed away Aug. 31, 2007.
Anna was employed at Owens-Illinois as a line worker for 30 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was involved with the St. Anthony’s Auxiliary, an avid bowler and Chicago Cubs Fan and enjoyed being with her family and friends.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, Gena and Jerry Schmitt of Mount Vernon, Ind., Jenny Taylor of Ballwin, Mo., and Bill and Ann Lawson of Alton; one sister, Stella Merli of Valley Park, Mo.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Bryan Heckman, Jeremy Schmitt, Adam and Tricia Lawson and Beth and Dan St. Peters; five great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Halle, Braden, Lawson and Liv; one sister-in-law, Marsha Blasioli of Alton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie Hendrickson and Josephine Sumpter; two brothers, Danny and Joe Blasioli; and a son-in-law, Roger Taylor.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials may be made St. Mary’s or Bethalto Care Center and or William M. BeDell Soc. ARC.
The family would also like to thank Bethalto Care Center for their excellent care and becoming part of an extended family to Anna.
