Annabelle Darr, 93, of Alton, passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at Blu-Fountain Manor of Godfrey.
She was born in Springfield, Ill., on Oct. 24, 1921, the daughter of the late Raymond Marion and Anna Belle (Keys) Smith.
On June 27, 1949, she married Jack Darr in Mena, Ark. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1986.
Annabelle retired from Sears after working in the accounting department as an auditor for more than 20 years. She later worked at Senior Services Plus in the Finance Department, retiring from there in 2006.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Raymond C. and Joan Darr of Alton, John W. and Linda Darr of Belleville; a daughter and her husband, Julie and Gary Brown of Brighton; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Julie and Jeremy Tarrant, James Darr, Charles Darr, Elaine and Bruce Davis, Shawn and Andrea Darr, Christopher Darr, Michelle Darr, Christina and James Lenart, Alicia Brown, Andrea and Andrew Chamberlain; nine great-grandchildren, Cole, Emma, Avery, Ivy, Jaden, Ava, Olivia, Ethan and Kaila; two nieces, Sharon and Gary Carpenter, Rita Marlene McLaughlin; and a great-niece, Marlena McLaughlin.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Smith.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. The Rev. Betty Carlisle will be officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
